Every HemoFlow is engineered, assembled, and supported here. Not outsourced. Not offshored. When you call, you reach the people who built your device.
Grass Valley is a town of about thirteen thousand people, and many of the people on our benches have spent years of their careers in this building. Skills pass from one bench to the next. People tend to stay, and their standards travel into every unit that leaves the door. That is the culture, and it is why a device built here is made to hold its standard draw after draw, long after the first one.

Blood cannot be manufactured. Every unit begins with a donor and ends, often within days, being transfused to a patient in need. The system that moves it has no room for error, and since 1991, that is the only system we have chosen to build for.
Founded in Grass Valley, California, where every HemoFlow is still designed and built today, not outsourced or offshored, Applied Science began at the collection floor with HemoFlow, a calibrated scale and mixer that guides every whole-blood draw from vein to inventory. The rugged, portable HemoFlow 400/500 mixer family is now the workhorse of the industry, with more than 25,000 units shipped worldwide. As centers scaled across borders, they needed to see the whole operation at once, so we built HemoVue, the cloud-based operational intelligence and device-management platform that turns every device and every draw into one live view of the network.

Today our technology is trusted from the American Red Cross to the UK's National Health Service and 300+ partners around the world. We are not a broad healthcare company, and we don't intend to become one. Depth in the blood supply is the whole point.
